Dekad Climate Analysis

Rainfall (1981-present) and temperature (1961-present) time series reconstructed from station observations and remote sensing proxies. This interface allows users to view rainfall, maximum and minimum temperature climatologies and anomalies. Rainfall climatology is defined over the period 1991-2020.

Dataset Documentation

Reconstructed rainfall and temperature over land areas on a 0.0375˚ x 0.0375˚ lat/lon grid (about 4km) from Zambia Meteorological Department. The rainfall time series (1981 to present) were created by combining quality-controlled station observations in ZMD’s archive with satellite rainfall estimates. Minimum and maximum temperature time series (1961 to present) were generated by combining quality-controlled station observations with down-scaled climate reanalysis product.
